How you’ll make an impact:
The Senior Cyber Security Engineer II serves as the first line of defense driving forward the approach, management, and compliance of network security solutions. As part of the Cyber Security “Blue” team, you will implement and manage Travelport’s network protection solutions.
Your role in action:
- Design, build, and manage the network security infrastructure of information technology (IT) systems including firewalls, Proxies, Web Application Firewalls (WAFs), intrusion detection systems (IDS) and intrusion prevention systems (IPS).
- Provide technical leadership in the architecture, design, engineering, implementation, security, and management of the enterprise-wide firewall, WAF, proxy, IDS and IPS platforms to meet security and compliance requirements including network segmentation.
- Provide input to strategic planning of active/active architectures, multiple data center integration, cloud network infrastructure, disaster recovery (DR) and resiliency.
- Partner with peers to help drive strategy and implementation of initiatives that require security input such remote access technologies, SDWAN, certificate management, etc.
- Provides advanced technical and operational escalation support to the Technical Operations staff on network elements, firewall logs, proxy, WAF, and IDS/IPS.
- Document and disseminate processes and procedures for network security.
- Provides forensics input to Cyber Incident Response teams.
- Support audit and compliance activities
Could this be you?
- At least seven years’ experience implementing, configuring, integrating and supporting network security/firewall solutions such as CheckPoint, Fortinet, ForcePoint, Akamai, Tipping Point), specifically:
- Checkpoint firewall solutions including Provider-1, MLM, VSX, R80.
- Fortinet firewall solutions including Fortimanager, Fortigate and Fortianalyzer
- Tipping Point or other IPS experience
- ForcePoint
- Experience using network security technologies to achieve PCI scope reduction (network segmentation)
- Experience working with firewall policy optimization and consolidation
- Expert knowledge of IP addressing and subnetting
- Experience working with firewall policy management solutions (i.e. Tufin)
- Experience following change control procedures and analyzing impacts of changes for possible disruptions/issues.
- Ability to work on a 24/7/365 available team and be on-call for emergency coverage
- Availability to work occasional nights and weekends
- Experience working with internal and external customers for required changes providing input and recommendations for best practices and infrastructure/application integration.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
- Successful completion for one of the following certifications:
- CISCO certifications (CCNP, CCNA)
- Checkpoint certifications (CCSA, CCSE)
- Fortinet Certification
- Excellent troubleshooting skills beyond the Firewall Platform, with the ability to identify the root cause, and solution to problems.
- Experience working with cloud or SaaS based CDN/DNS/WAF technologies such as Akamai and Cloudflare
- Experience with PKI and certificates
- Experience with network security methodologies for cloud environments (AWS/Azure) such as AWS Cloudfront, AWS WAF, AWS Security Groups, etc
- Experience working with Netskope web proxy
- Working knowledge of routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, BGP)
- Linux command line skills
- Scripting experience with Bash, Perl, Python, and/or PowerShell
- Automation scripting experience with Service Now/firewall management APIs
