We are proud to be a Magnet facility, Academic Medical Center, Level 1 Trauma Center and Designated Stroke Center.  As an EP Registered Nurse, you will have the opportunity to participate in our Nursing Clinical Ladder Program.

Our Electrophysiology lab is a high acuity and high patient turn-over EP Lab specialized in performing all adult electrophysiology studies and ablations, including SVT, AF and VT, as well as epicardial ablations. We are also performing Watchman and Lariat procedures to close the LAA, and implants including PPM’s, ICD’s, Loop Recorders and Heart Failure devices. We are equipped with the Abbott Velocity, Biosense Carto 3 and BSCI Rhythma and Acutus Mapping systems to ensure quality and consistency with our progress as a leader in the field. BUMC-P has 4 interventional cardiology suites, 3 EP suites and 2 hybrid OR's. The EP lab team is comprised of highly skilled professionals that include special procedure technologists, registered nurses, EP specialists and electrophysiologists. Our EP physicians and staff are involved in many research trials to better understand and treat the arrhythmias confronted with for the better good of our patients.

*20,000.00 sign-on Incentive for RNs with a minimum of 12 months of EP or Cath Lab Experience; requires a 2-year commitment.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy.

2. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data and the medical plan of care. Goals for patient are realistic, measurable and developed in conjunction with the pat
