To meet the evolving needs of our patients and community, we're adding a dedicated corridor for Internal Medicine, Dentistry, Dermatology, and Ophthalmology services. With this expansion, we’re adding over 10,000 square feet of cutting-edge space, creating an environment where excellence in patient care thrives. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, compassionate Ophthalmology Registered Veterinary Technician who isn’t afraid to keep an eye on the finer things—like patient comfort, precision care, and a well-lubricated schedule. This is a unique chance to step into a specialty role within a brand-new department, supported by an experienced clinical team and a board-certified ophthalmologist. Whether you have previous experience in ophthalmology or are eager to learn, this is a role where your skills will shine—and so will your patients' retinas.

General Overview:
The ophthalmology technician will primarily be responsible for obtaining patient histories, completing ophthalmic tests and procedures, drawing and submitting laboratory samples and providing client education. On the days we are not seeing appointments we are completing a variety of ophthalmic surgeries.


Location:
  • Boulder, CO
Compensation:
  • $25 - $31 based on experience and skills assessment
Schedule:
  • Full Time
    • Monday – Friday
    • 8am to 4pm
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Proficiency in Creating patient estimates and treatment plan formulation for patients.
  • Proficiency in obtaining patient medical history.
  • Proficiency in admitting and discharging patients within the Ophthalmology service.
  • Demonstrate exceptional client communication and education as well as assistance with scheduling appointments, surgeries, and advanced imaging.
  • Demonstrates competency in calculating medications and drug doses.
  • Practices proper and safe patient restraint of the patient
  • Proficiency in performing general venipuncture, peripheral catheter placement and maintenance.
Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with at least 2 years of applicable experience
  • At least 1 year of experience within a specialty veterinary hospital required, preferably within the Ophthalmology department
  • Knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures and terminology
  • Ability to communicate
