The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager to help shape and prosecute the goals of the Integrated Research Operations (IRO) group. This pivotal role will coordinate the cross-functional alignment of Discovery Research functions, ensuring the successful execution of R&D priorities across multiple teams, including Protein Sciences, Biology, Therapeutic Assay Sciences, and Computational Protein Generation. They will provide additional support to R&D functions by fostering close partnerships with Digital, Data Science, Automation Engineering, and Applied AI groups. In this high visibility role, the Senior Manager will leverage their operational clarity to inform strategic resourcing decisions at multiple levels of the organization, including functional group leads, department heads, and senior leadership.

As Senior Manager, you are a scientifically trained problem-solver who is skilled at translating complex discovery strategies into simple, measurable, and repeatable operational workflows. Bringing a strong background in biologics drug-discovery and a process-oriented mindset, you will run alignment forums, streamline cross-functional information sharing, and manage outsourced DNA & protein production logistics. You will synthesize insights from operational data and apply your excellent communication skills to co-author reports and presentations on the health of key platform technologies and overall execution efficacy. You will drive clarity and change management to ensure successful onboarding of new technologies into production. You will work closely with technology teams and Technical Program Managers to draft, adjust, execute technology onboarding roadmaps. Success means information and work flows seamlessly through the platform, cycle times remain predictable, and lab scientists stay focused on science.

 

Here's how you will contribute:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cross-Functional Alignment:
    • Implement lightweight communication processes and tools to simplify cross-functional information flow, without adding complexity or bureaucracy.
    • Synthesize insights and recommendations from both KPI snapshots and professional partnerships that drive continuous improvement of execution.
  2. Coordination of Protein Production & Screening Activities:
    • Translate strategic R&D prioritization into coordinated action across functional teams.
    • Own and run weekly / bi-weekly alignment meetings that coordinate scientific information sharing and sample handoff logistics within design-build-measure-analyze workflows.
  3. Outsourcing Management:
    • Manage outsourcing activities across Protein Sciences, including DNA and protein production.
    • Work closely with external partners and vendors to ensure the efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery of outsourced services.
    • Track outsourcing budgets in coordination with Finance and program teams.
  4. Technology Onboarding & Integration:
    • Partner with Technical Program Managers to draft, adjust, and monitor technology-onboarding roadmaps.
    • Drive change management that accelerates high-impact technology adoption while maintaining operational clarity within Discovery Research.
