Customer Services Specialist II

Courier job description: 

• Valid driver's license
• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols precisely. 
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to lift and carry specimen transport containers as needed.
• Reliable, professional, and capable of working independently or with a team.
• Pick up and transport lab specimens which includes blood, urine, tissues, swabs from healthcare facilities to our Deaconess Midtown Lab. 
• Ensure proper handling and secure storage of specimens to maintain sample integrity and prevent contamination. 
• Maintain timely delivery schedules while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols. 
• Handle biohazard materials in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
• Communicate effectively with lab personnel, healthcare providers, dispatch team members, peers, leads and supervisors.
• Keep accurate records of all pick-ups and deliveries, including timestamps and signatures when turning in specimens to Midtown Lab.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of transport containers and vehicle.
• Must have satisfactory Driving Record defined by the Deaconess MVR Policy.  Due to the nature of this position a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be ran prior to employment and annually thereafter.
