Afternoon Custodian - Norup International School

POSITION OPEN:  Norup Afternoon Custodian

COMPENSATION: Starting at  $18.63 Class V per hour per the current AFSCME Salary Schedule  - commensurate with education/experience + benefit package provided in the current AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Good moral character
• Ability to create and maintain good public relations
• Ability to understand and communicate in English
• Ability to clear equipment, materials and methods used in custodial work
• Ability to work without constant direct supervision
• Ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting and moving a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Excellent attendance record
• Successful completion of drug/fitness screening and criminal background check

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Clean assigned areas as follows:
  • Sweep and vacuum rooms and halls
  • Dust rooms and lockers
  • Empty trash receptacles
  • Mop bathroom floor, clean toilets and urinals and replenish paper supplies
  • Clean whiteboards as necessary
  • Clean doors and windows
  • Clean entryways
  • Report any needed repairs to building Head Custodian
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation in their section
• Communicate with the building Head Custodian about any issues, low inventory, etc.
• Perform nightly safety checks and secure the building
• Perform set ups and takedowns for events and activities
• Clean up after evening events and activities
• Perform basic vacuum maintenance
• Assist with snow removal as needed
• Complete district wide summer deep cleaning
• Perform other duties as assigned
