Position Summary

The Distribution Clerk / Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for supporting daily warehouse distribution activities while ensuring products meet established quality, safety, and customer specifications. This role performs order verification, material handling, shipping and receiving functions, and conducts quality inspections to maintain compliance with company standards and customer requirements. The position works closely with warehouse, production, and operations teams to ensure accurate, timely, and defect-free product delivery from the Pasadena, Texas facility.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform shipping, receiving, picking, packing, and staging of materials in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements.

  • Verify product accuracy, quantities, and specifications prior to shipment to ensure order completeness and correctness.

  • Conduct quality inspections on incoming and outgoing products, including visual inspections, documentation review, and basic measurement verification as required.

  • Identify, document, and report nonconforming materials or quality issues; assist with corrective actions and resolution.

  • Ensure all products meet Midwest Hose & Specialty quality standards, customer specifications, and applicable safety or regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain accurate records related to inventory movement, inspections, and quality checks using warehouse management or ERP systems.

  • Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts and material organization, to maintain inventory accuracy.

  • Follow and enforce proper handling, storage, and packaging procedures to prevent damage or contamination.

  • Assist with audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and warehouse operations.

  • Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards to maintain a safe and organized work environment.

  • Collaborate with warehouse, production, and operations teams to resolve discrepancies and improve efficiency.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment 

  • Maintain professionalism in the workplace.

  • Perform any other assigned proprietary duties.

Qualifications


Qualifications and Requirements

  • Basic understanding of quality control principles and inspection processes.

  • Experience with shipping and receiving procedures, inventory control, and material handling.

  • Ability to read English and interpret work orders, bills of lading, packing lists, and basic technical specifications.

  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, or inventory software; basic computer skills required.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects, discrepancies, and process deviations.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified within a designated timeframe.

  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds (occasionally 100 pounds) and perform prolonged physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed based on business demands.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or coursework in quality, logistics, or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in warehouse distribution, quality assurance, manufacturing, or a related industrial environment preferred.
  • Experience with shipping and receiving procedures, inventory control, and material handling.
