The Job You Will Perform:

 

The Shipping Warehouse Manager is responsible for the day to day and long term success of Shipping operations with direct impact on whether the mill meets its goals or not.  The Warehouse Manager’s role is to provide leadership to the Shipping department to achieve mill and Customer Excellence objectives, and facilitate sound business decisions. This role will report to the Business Unit Manager, Customer Excellence.

 

 

The Skills You Will Bring:

 

Qualified candidates should possess a fundamental knowledge of Shipping operations and industrial process management. This includes knowledge of maintenance management principles and a desire to work with maintenance as a team.

 

The Shipping Warehouse Manager should have a basic business financial understanding, the ability to comprehend and assist the achievement of department budgets and cost objectives, and have the skill to apply this information in the daily operation of the department.  Candidates should have the ability to develop strategic capital, and annual production and cost plans.

Required skills and knowledge include:

•Assure a safe and highly motivated workforce by demonstrating leadership in safety and production efforts. Identify improvement opportunities and drive for sustained results.

•Manage the performance and development of more than 45 salaried and hourly members by setting clear expectations and standards of performance and identifying and providing the necessary skill development training.

•Coach, lead, support, and develop the shift Front Line Leaders, collectively as well as individually.  Oversee the succession planning process.

•Actively participate in MWS process to ensure work is effectively planned and executed within the Shipping department.

•Forecast annual productivity and cost budgets for the area. Analyze historical production and cost performance data to prepare detailed gap analysis for improvement opportunities. Facilitate integrated action plans for productivity and cost goal attainment and select champions to lead individual integrated action plan items.
