 The Program Chief Engineer will join the Networks and Connectivity Engineering (NCE) team within our Connected Aviation Solutions business unit. This team supports the core aviation datalink service which provides air/ground data communications for airlines and business aviation, enabling the exchange of information from airborne subsystems to ground-based computers anywhere in the world.  This is done by using VHF, HF, and satellite-based radio links and a private global network.

In this role you will be acting as lead of innovative teams responsible for designing and developing our next generation of industry-leading communication products.  The candidate will work with engineering management, program management, technical engineering leads across multiple disciplines, and engineering support groups.  This is an engineering leadership position with focus on the full lifecycle of communications systems to provide solutions and support for commercial and government aviation customers.  The organizational objective is to modernize the Network Operations Center (NOC) so it is a leader in customer service and a differentiator in the aviation industry.   This is an ideal role for anyone who enjoys leading solutions will improve customer service.  You will play a pivotal role in this targeted growth area of the Collins Aerospace company. 

What You Will Do:

• You will develop an upgrade and migration roadmap.
• You will lead a multi-disciplined engineering team that works across the breadth of the Collins core Operation Center services.
• You will oversee the full life cycle of the project.
• You will work onsite 3 days a week in our Annapolis, MD site.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field at minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
•  Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience as a Technical Project Manager, Product Owner, or Program Manager with proficiency in project and program management concepts, methodologies, practices, and technologies. 
• Experience in designing High-Availability systems.
• Experience in the System Engineering lifecycle from Statement of Need development to system requirement and design.
