Job Description
Danfoss in Tallahassee, FL is searching for an Advanced Manufacturing Intern. The intern will assist the Operation Project Management Office in the in multiple projects to development of process flows, plant layouts, Statistical analyses, and CAD drawings. The position reports to the Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer and is focused on strategic projects to fulfill long term company objectives.
Job Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will be, but are not limited to:
- Assist in evaluating and determining best methods for material handling processes.
- Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine workflow processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
- Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting and computer applications.
- Evaluate material handling equipment requirements as needed.
- Assist in providing technical and operational support as needed.
- Study operations sequence, material flow, organization charts and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities.
- Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material and equipment.
- Draft and document standard operating procedures (SOP) and Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) for operations tasks and functions
- Conduct observations and time studies as required to implement engineered standards.
- Assists in project activities.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
- Available to work 20 hours/week during the Spring & Fall semesters, 40 hours/week during the Summer
- Candidates must be located within 50 miles of the Tallahassee work site
- Proficient in 3D and 2D CAD, Mini Tab experience also preferred
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills
- Sit/walk or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
