JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician I is an entry level position that can demonstrate the skills needed to complete minor inspection, diagnosis, and problem solving with building operations; perform basic repairs and preventative measures; and maintain facility grounds
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the mission and vision of the organization.
- Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
- Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
- Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
PROFICIENCIES:
- Technical Proficiency
- Successful completion of Maintenance Technician I Competency Check Sheet within (90) days of hire
- Training
- Technicians in the role will be able to train and complete the Maintenance Technician II Competency Check Sheet after successfully completing six months in Technician I role
- Troubleshooting
- The ability to identify the root cause of problems, diagnose malfunctions, and develop effective solutions.
- Repair and Maintenance
- Performing routine maintenance tasks like lubricating, cleaning adjusting and replacing parts.
- Preventative Maintenance
- Implementing strategies to prevent failures by performing scheduled maintenance tasks and inspections.
- Safety Knowledge
- Understanding and adhering to safety protocols and regulations when working with equipment, machinery, and tools.
- Communication Skills
- Effectively communicating with colleagues, supervisors, and customers about maintenance issues and tasks.
- Problem Solving
- Analyzing situations, identifying issues, and developing and implementing solutions
- Record Keeping
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs and inspections.

- Efficiently scheduling and completing maintenance tasks within deadlines.

- Possessing the physical strength and dexterity needed to perform maintenance tasks.
- Basic Computer Skills
- Using computer systems for maintenance planning, record keeping, and accessing technical information.
