Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Pyromation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working within the value stream to support engineering and equipment needs with strong focus on production equipment uptime and equipment fabrication. This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Value Stream Leader and serves as a liaison within the Value Stream. Responsible for promoting an environment of lean efficiency, continuous improvement, and supporting strategic Value Stream goals.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Production Support:
- Assist in ensuring the maintenance of all equipment tooling, fixtures, hand tools, and other tangible objects needed to manufacture products within the Value Stream
- Assist in implementing formal preventive maintenance systems for all Value Stream production equipment.
- Facilitate minimal equipment downtime and ensure that preventive and correct maintenance needs are met.
- Utilize tools and materials needed to perform all Value Stream equipment preventive and corrective maintenance needs.
- Work in coordination with other Value Stream functions to ensure that customer requirements are met.
- Fabricate equipment, equipment tooling, fixtures, electrical, pneumatic, and other tangible objects needed to manufacture products within the Value Stream.
- Complete requests for fabrication prioritized to support the Value Stream.
- Assist in the installation of relocation of equipment.
- Gemba walks within the Value Stream.
- Attend toolbox meetings to support Value Stream.
- Attend weekly meeting with Manufacturing Value Stream Leader.
- Be able to work any shift required or as needed to support the Value Stream.
- Provide on-call responsiveness to Value Stream needs.
- Support shift start-up and shutdown.
Improvement:
- Help ensure continuous improvements take place.
- Ensure a timely resolution o safety, and idea team action items.
- Facilitate minimal equipment downtime and ensure that preventive and corrective maintenance needs are met.
- Utilize tools and materials needed to perform fabrication jobs to support the Value Stream.
- Help to identify equipment improvements to increase productivity and quality while minimizing downtime.
- Assist in designing and troubleshooting production equipment.
- Help with upgrades of existing equipment.
- Help to support lean activities, RI Events, 6/3’s, etc.
- Other related duties as required and directed by the Manufacturing Value Stream Leader.
Knowledge and Skills Requirement:
- Be proficient in application of lean tools.
- Electrical wiring experience or training.
- Pneumatic systems background.
- Be proficient at MIG welding.
- Read and interpret schematics.
- Action oriented with effective problem-solving skills.
- Display leadership, sound judgement and maturity.
- Effective communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Able to give constructive feedback and coaching to peers. Open to receiving feedback from others.
- Possess the willingness to continually learn and develop job related skills while guiding others to do the same.
- Ability to stand and perform job duties during shift.
- Good hand to eye coordination and dexterity.
- The ability to perform repetitive operations.
- Must be able to read a tape measure.
