How You'll Do It

 

• Execute multiple general accounting processes to support the completeness and accuracy of the company’s financial data.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
• Perform month-end, quarter-end and year-end close procedures
• Research, track, and resolve accounting issues
• Assist with analytical activities to support both internal and external reporting in accordance with accounting policies, U.S. GAAP, and other statutory or government reporting guidelines
• Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data to support the timely reporting of key financial information as required by supervisors
• Understand and execute internal controls related to accountabilities; proactively seek opportunities to strengthen internal controls
• Partner with other functional groups such as Operations Finance, Corporate Accounting, Sourcing and Supply Chain groups to provide accounting support as needed
• Use financial and accounting experience and acumen to analyze and interpret data to make any recommendations on possible courses of action as appropriate
• Assist with the development of accounting policies and procedures and recommend changes to improve processes
• Assist in the resolution of discrepancies and data maintenance
• Support external and internal audit requirements
• Ad-hoc tasks and/or projects as necessary

What You'll Need

 

• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and finance practices and progressive experience in an accounting/finance role 
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail 
• High degree of proficiency in MS Excel (advanced skill level) and MS Office (intermediate) products
• Able to work with multiple reporting platforms utilized by the company
• Able to work in a team environment and able to effectively shift focus to multiple priorities
• Business and Financial Analysis 

What You'll Bring

 

• BA / BS degree in accounting or finance
• Professional accountancy certification (or working toward certification) such as CPA, CIMA, ACCA or ACA preferred
• Minimum of five years of progressive experience in accounting or finance function
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills
• Experience with SOX compliance is preferred
• Experience working in organizations experiencing fast-paced change or transformation 
• Experience in manufacturing or similar industry- mattress, furniture, etc.
