Position Summary

The Graduate Assistant (GA) serves the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs on the Mequon, Wisconsin campus through work related to supporting faculty research engagement. This is a grant-funded, part-time position renewable up to September 30, 2025.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Financial and Compliance Graduate Assistant supports primary functions of the ORSP, including:

  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of grant budgets.
  • Perform financial reconciliations for grant accounts.
  • Prepare and process journal entries and budget modifications.
  • Track and report grant expenditures and ensure they align with approved budgets.
  • Provide support for the grant proposal submission process, including budget preparation.
  • Assist with the review and approval of grant-related expenditures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to grant accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all grant-related financial activities.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a Concordia University graduate program
  • Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior experience with grant accounting or financial administration is preferred but not require
