In this position... 

Product Development Operations and Quality team is looking for a Connected Vehicle Data Analytics Engineer to support enterprise initiatives on Cost and Quality. In this role, the engineer will be extracting information and insights from connected vehicle data to lead, manage and support cross functional quality investigations and analytics for propulsion systems. We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about continuous learning, problem solving and big data. The candidate must demonstrate strong collaborative skills, open to fail fast and stay focused on delivering to customer needs.

What you'll do...

Establish strong working relationship with key stake stakeholders in Product development to ensure that plans and requirements are fully understood and issues are resolved effectively and efficiently

Debug, root cause, and resolve propulsion systems quality issues with cross functional teams leveraging connected vehicle data and enterprise tool sets

Foster and leverage connected vehicle data collection for solving engineering problems and characterizing customer usage

Proficient in BQ SQL and similar tools to query, analyze and interpret big data in propulsion systems domain

Develop and Own data pipelines/workflows using Python, Alteryx, and similar tools 

Coordinate with vehicle software teams to create new connected vehicle data elements as needed and support validation of new data elements

Perform a statistical analysis, predictive modeling and/or pattern recognitions, for the engineering team’s understanding of the data

Be proficient in in-vehicle calibration tools (ATI / ETAS) to collect high frequency data to validate connected data on key propulsion features & subsystems

Summarize & Present complex data sets in a simplified fashion to technical and non-technical audiences

 

You'll have... 

Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Data Science/Analytics, Computer Science, or related field of study

3+ year of analytical, querying & programming experience - SQL, Python, Spark and similar tools

2+ years of experience in automotive industry - Product development and/or Quality

Even better, you may have...

Masters Degree in Engineering, Data Science/Analytics or similar field

5+ years of propulsion systems experience with strong understanding of delivering calibration processes. 

2+ years of experience in Connectivity eco-system delivering projects from concept to production. 

Experience with Agile, Git, CI/CD release pipeline is a plus

Ability to write sophisticated SQL queries to extract and transform big data.

Ability to take complex problems and break them down to build and implement an action plan and prioritize tasks

Ability to condense and visualize large data sets to enable inference and decision making by customers and stakeholders.

Strong team-player with proven experience and a willingness to take ownership of a topic and successfully bring it to completion. 

Strong collaboration and communication skills, ability to engage with upper management as well as peers.
