Position Highlights

Temporary summer help completing custodial and maintenance duties.

Job Summary:

The individual in this position is responsible for a variety of custodial and maintenance duties. All duties are performed in a manner that demonstrates and supports St. Michael’s Hospital Avera’s commitment to Service Excellence in patient care by fostering positive and productive relationships with patients, visitors, and staff, while also supporting departmental goals and operational needs.

Essential Job Functions

• Performs interior painting of walls, ceilings, and related surfaces.
• Completes exterior line striping and pavement markings for parking areas.
• Remove debris and waste from designated areas to maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Maintain lawns by mowing and trimming regularly to ensure a clean, well-kept appearance.
• Maintain clean and safe grounds by regularly removing debris from lawns and parking lots.
• Move furniture and/or equipment as requested.
• Follow all safety regulations and departmental policies.
• Assist in carrying out assigned responsibilities as directed.
• Maintain confidentiality of clients, patients, and St. Michael’s Hospital Avera information at all times.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Education & Experience

Custodial, groundskeeping, and painting experience preferred.

Minimum Age Requirement:
Applicants must be at least 16 years of age to be eligible for this position.
