Senior Wordpress Designer

We are seeking an experienced and creative Senior Web Designer to join our team Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing Web Design guidelines and best practices for small business websites to be implemented across our Content Operations team. The ideal candidate should have a keen eye for design and be able to create websites that effectively communicate the brand and message for business customers from all types of industries.

Responsibilities

• Prepare “UENI’s Design System” for website creation and design, from understanding the customer’s business and vision for their website; to designing the layout, selecting & manipulating imagery; to writing & embellishing descriptions for the business’s services and products.

• Provide creative direction and feedback to ensure the delivery of high-quality design work that meets our client’s needs.

• Help create customer websites, microsites, landing pages, and marketing collateral, with the principles of user experience, accessibility, and mobile-friendly design in mind.

• Effective communication and coordination between website designers and builders, to facilitate a swift turnaround for the customer.

• Agile, able to learn fast and apply learnings to the ever-evolving website building methodology.

Skills and Competencies

• Demonstrable experience as a web designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing design skills and experience.

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other web development tools

• Excellent understanding of SEO principles, responsive design and website optimization best practices.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with changing priorities.

• Ability to know what looks great on desktop and mobile screens, and understand how visitors to websites interact with on-screen content.

• Ability to quickly discern grammatical errors, image mismatches, and other bad categorical content related issues.

• Ability to learn quickly – we have many in-house bespoke tools to navigate through.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in design, fine arts, or related field.

• 10+ years of experience with Web Design, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or management role.

• Track record of amazing UX & UI work, preferably for small business websites

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

• Experience working remotely is an advantage.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
