Salary range is $70k to $165k, with a midpoint of $115k.  New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity and market.

GENERAL PURPOSE: 

Under general direction of the Compliance Audit Manager, leads the performance of compliance audits and surveillances related to activities of management system oversight, as well as technical audits of all modes of transportation owned by Sound Transit. Prepares associated and required reports; plans, performs and independently leads audits in accordance with Federal, State, and local requirements for all modes of transportation operated by contractors & agency partners under Intergovernmental Agreements and modes owned by Sound Transit. Also, duties will require employee to assist in development of plans and policies and provide technical subject-matter expertise agency-wide. Furthermore, duties will also include leading management system audits for compliance to Safety, Asset Management, and Environmental standards of excellence. 

Scope of duties may also include review of specification and criteria conformance relating to compliance & assurance standards; provides other related audit hazard risk advice and support as needed to include, corrective action reviews; process mapping and analysis, planning, measurement, and continuous improvement.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leads and performs compliance audits, assessments, and surveillance activities for the Agency; and prepares associated and required audit reports.
• Lead and perform required agency management system internal compliance audits to standards for Safety (SMS), Environmental (ESMS), and/or Asset Management (AMS).
• Follow established audit practices for corrective action, continuous improvement, records management and other agency related procedures, processes, and activities.
• Interfaces with contractors, subcontractors, and agency partners who manage, operate and maintain all modes of transport under Intergovernmental Agreements.
• Conduct routine audits for bus, commuter rail, light rail vehicles, systems, and facilities according to specification, maintenance manuals, configuration changes & alterations, preventive and reactive maintenance schedules, safety critical components, maintenance recordkeeping, and personnel training for responsible parties operating transit vehicles.
• Assess and review ST modal operator and maintainer tasks by periodically reviewing and surveying crew and maintainer duty schedules for fatigue hazards.
