About the role
<p><span>We are looking for a talented </span><strong>Mechanical Engineering Technician</strong><span> to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Cummins Inc. facility in Columbus, IN. </span></p><p> </p><p><strong>In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: </strong></p><ul><li>Conducts performance and reliability testing on multiple and single cylinder engines, components, systems, and controls; performs diagnosis of engines, components, systems, controls, and test cell problems and initiates appropriate resolutions. </li><li>Configures and operates data acquisition systems; analyzes and reviews data for appropriateness; writes computer programs to assist in analysis and data interpretation; configures engine test programs; interprets results makes necessary adjustments; documents, defines data collected, and maintains electronic files. </li><li>Performs rig, engine and component builds, tear down, and inspections.Grades and measures components. </li><li>Creates sketches for machining and fabricates necessary piping, tubing, and brackets from prints and drawings.</li><li>Installs engines and instrumentation of engines and components in test cells, test rigs. </li><li>Uses common tools such as Calterm, Asset, Cyflex, etc. </li><li>Designs, documents, and executes test plans; provides input during the creation of test plans; prepares test reports to include findings, conclusions and recommendations. </li><li>Understands and applies appropriate company and department rules and guidelines to work. </li><li>Works with and trains apprentices and technicians. Interfaces with customers, suppliers, engineers, and other functions. </li><li>Coordinates programs including planning, scheduling, ordering, and tracking. </li><li>Participates in the maintenance of quality procedures.</li><li>Leads and participate in improvement projects. Develops and gives presentations to customers and suppliers. </li><li>Knows and complies with all safety policies and procedures.</li><li>Demonstrates confidentiality as required. </li><li>Participates in self- and team-audits and associated corrective action. Performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to get the job done.</li></ul>

<div><p paraeid="{f55695e7-8cdd-4557-9e14-495001dd0737}{2}" paraid="910733692"><span><span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US"><strong>This position is for the Emissions Measurement Laboratory </strong></span></span><i><strong><u>(Weekend Night Shift 3 x 12 7pm - 7am)</u></strong></i></p></div><div><p paraeid="{f55695e7-8cdd-4557-9e14-495001dd0737}{10}" paraid="1297158405"><span><span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US">Technicians will be required to do all mandatory training to remain compliant in their roles (HSE, CLC courses, bottle training, LOTO, etc.)</span></span></p></div><div><p paraeid="{f55695e7-8cdd-4557-9e14-495001dd0737}{24}" paraid="1608145898"><span><span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US">Technicians will be required to communicate with internal customers via email and collaboration applications (i.e.</span><span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US"> MS</span><span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US"> Teams).</span>
