About the role

Job Description Summary

The Tech Lead will be responsible for facilitating transactions, producing, assembling and delivering replacement/ repair parts and equipment as part of a Services agreement or order which includes activities such as processing transactions, managing processes, material management, site operations, sometimes in a shop structure; includes craft & non craft labor as well as manager roles responsible solely for these activities.

This role impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. You will impact quality, efficiency and effectiveness of your own team. This position has significant input into priorities, guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing engineering tasks that do not require 4 year degree. Primarily tactical responsibilities. This does not include general administrative work.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members
     

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field from an accredited university or college with at least 3 years of technical manufacturing experience OR a High School diploma / GED with at least 5 years of technical manufacturing experience.
  • 2 years of repairs / servicing experience of heavy duty equipment
  • Experience with reading & interpreting technical drawings

Eligibility Requirements:

  • This position is 100% onsite at GE Richmond Service Center
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must successfully complete a drug screen and background check

Pay Transparency

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $81,700.00 - 109,200.00.  The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.  This posting is expected to close on July 5, 2025 or thereafter.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
