Working in Risk in Market Operations
The purpose of the Risk department in Market Operations is to secure satisfactory risk evaluation and risk communication to enable Statkraft Trading & Origination and asset optimization business. Our responsibilities include P&L and risk reporting, risk management support, development of the risk models, risk methodologies and risk framework. Part of the enablers to ensure the success of Statkraft growth strategy is to have a strong risk team.
Job Description
As a quantitative risk analyst, you will provide risk modelling services to the risk department and contribute to ensure that our risk measurement is adapted to the development in Statkrafts Market Operation business but also the changes in the energy markets. You will:
- Contribute to the development of risk models covering physical energy assets, option trading, and non-standard long-term contracts.
- Calibrate the stochastic price scenario models and contribute to include fundamental analysis in our risk models.
- Provide guidance and increase the capabilities of the risk function in the areas of quantitative risk modelling and analytics.
- Collaborate with other team members in the risk function and with front offices.
Please note that this position is open for our locations in Amsterdam, Düsseldorf or Oslo.
Qualifications
- University degree in a quantitative field within mathematics, economics, physics, or engineering
- Insight in the field of quantitative finance and risk (valuation, risk modelling, statistical analysis)
- Experience and understanding of stochastic price scenario modelling and of the mathematics behind it.
- Solid coding skills (Python preferred)
- Strong interest for the European energy markets, and financial market concepts
- Relevant experience from the energy sector is an advantage
- Highly structured and solution oriented
- Proactive team player with integrity and the ability to communicate complex issues in a clear manner
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
