Project Manager - Advanced Metering Infrastructure

Manages, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals. Responsibilities include the development, management, and compilation of large/small meter weekly data reports, AMI rollout and to prepare, analyze and communicate weekly/month-end results for review and/or decision making
Organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work. Develops project plans, managing budgets, ensuring data accuracy and security, coordinating with technical teams and third-party vendors, facilitating communication, and resolving technical and operational issues to improve energy efficiency and billing.
Oversees the installation and maintenance of smart meters, ensuring data accuracy, security, and successful integration of AMI data into utility operations. Serve as the primary point of contact for utilities, installers, and internal technical teams
Manages subcontractors, ensuring quality standards, safety compliance, and timely performance. Serve as the primary point of contact for utilities, installers, and internal technical teams.
Analyzes meter data trends to identify opportunities for improving system performance, energy efficiency, and customer service. Works closely with various departments, including engineering, customer service, and sales, to ensure holistic project success.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES MIGHT INCLUDE:
- Performs annual reviews of subordinate personnel.
- Interfacing with COGNOS, CMMS GIS, Enquesta and Smart Works to ensure water and sewer infrastructure data is accuracy.
- Trains new employees.
- Leads end-to-end AMI deployment projects, including scheduling, planning, resource management, and status reporting
Required minimum qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Computer Science or related field required.
Experience: Five (5) years five years of progressively responsible experience in metering technology operations, to include lead or supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in management, supervision, and interpersonal communication.
- Mastery of operating standard office equipment and computers, intermediate experience level at Microsoft Office software.
- Demonstrate abilities in problem solving, decision making and analytical thinking.
- Considerable knowledge of Augusta’s water and sewer standards, details, specifications, and ordinances pertaining to water, sewer construction and maintenance
- Proficiency in key software components, including structured query language (SQL), python-including pandas and Jupiter notebooks, and radio technology including cellular LTE and LoRa.
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

Licensing: Possession of a valid driver’s license with good driving history. If state license is other than Georgia or South Carolina, applicant must obtain a license in Georgia or South Carolina within 30 days of employment.
