Senior Business Manager to the CFO Netherlands
INGAbout the role
We are looking for a highly organized, delivery-oriented, all-round Business Manager to the CFO of ING Netherlands, who will act as an advisor and day-to-day business partner.
Your work environment
At ING, we are committed to delivering on our ambitious strategic agenda—and it is our people who make this possible. We take ownership, make it happen, and continuously stay one step ahead.
The Finance organisation of the Netherlands plays a central role in enabling strategic decision‑making by creating actionable insights, providing pro-active advice, steering the balance sheet and profitability and in safeguarding the bank’s financial integrity. The CFO domain covers a broad range of topics, including Finance Business Advice, Financial Accounting & Regulatory Reporting, Procurement and Corporate Real Estate and Facility management.
The environment in which Finance operates is constantly evolving, demanding a forward‑looking and adaptive mindset, taking into account external developments.
The financial insights and reports become more and more granular and data-driven, requiring us to become digitally savvy and deliver (ad-hoc) insights using readily available data. As a result, the CFO domain operates in a context of ongoing transformation—ranging from incremental improvements to large‑scale initiatives that impact the financial steering of the bank.
To support these challenges, we are seeking an energetic, structured and delivery‑oriented Senior Business Manager to support the CFO of ING Netherlands.
Roles & Responsibilities
As Senior Business Manager to the CFO of ING Netherlands, you will:
Act as a trusted sparring partner and advisor to the CFO, supporting day‑to‑day activities and enabling focus, prioritisation, and effective decision‑making.
Take a leading role in the implementation of strategic priorities, projects and initiatives to support strategy execution.
Ensure quality assurance of Finance deliverables, including internal reporting packages, strategic updates, and regulatory interactions.
Proactively monitor and assess financial, regulatory, and industry developments, formulating insights for the CFO and Finance MT.
Prepare high‑quality communications and presentations for key stakeholders, including ExCo, Supervisors, internal committees, and external events.
Manage stakeholder relationships across the organisation—translating complex topics into clear actions, assessing impacts, and enabling effective cross‑department collaboration.
Prepare, organise and facilitate Finance MT meetings, townhalls, leadership sessions, and employee gatherings.
Monitor the progress of key financial and non-financial performance metrics, ensuring actions are allocated to the relevant people and are acted upon.
Develop and implement a communication strategy to strengthen engagement, transparency, and Finance‑wide awareness.
Proactively signal and drive improvements in processes, governance and ways of working, acting as a connector with other business areas.
Serve as a point of contact for a broad set of topics, assessing their relevance, impact and required actions.
How to Succeed
We hire smart, motivated people for their potential. Our main expectation is that you remain curious, keep learning, and take ownership. In return, we support you in becoming an even better version of yourself.
You are successful in this role if you:
Are an excellent communicator with the ability to engage diverse audiences through clear, concise and compelling materials (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
Thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic and complex environment.
Are proactive, comfortable with change, and able to set your own priorities.
