Purpose
Seeking a Work Study Research Assistant who will work closely with the Dell Seton Abdominal Transplant Clinic team, the successful candidate will support research and quality improvement projects.
Responsibilities
Assist with patient data collection for the quantitative study of the barriers in access to transplantation.
Serve as the point of contact for patients to explain the research and gauge their interest in participating.
Obtain written consent from patients interested in participating in study.
Conduct in-person health literacy assessments with patients.
Become a proficient user of the UT Research software, REDCap. Enter and clean data collected, maintain documentation in REDCap and Box spreadsheets.
Required Qualifications
Eligible for Work-Study employment with UT
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Ability to show up on time and be flexible
Fluency in the English language with strong communication skills
Interest in public health, healthcare, social science, or research
Understanding of patient confidentiality
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Fluency in Spanish
Experience working in a clinical setting involving patient interaction
Experience with REDCap
Coursework in health education, public health, research methodology, or social science
Experience in data collection and analysis
Salary Range
$16.00 Hourly
