About the Role
The Therapeutic Policy and Advocacy Lead, GI (Associate Director) executes patient advocacy strategies that advance shared priorities for the US Business Unit (USBU), Strategy and Portfolio Development (SPD), and the International Business Unit (IBU) for an assigned therapeutic portfolio of in-line and pipeline medicines. The role drives strategic engagement with patient group partners across the development and commercialization continuum, including addressing access policy and barriers to optimal care. This role also ensures patients’ and caregivers’ perspectives are included in company discussions and decision making.
How You Will Contribute
Execute advocacy strategies aligned with assigned franchise/product goals and serve as point on cross functional workstreams.
Serve as the primary point of contact to franchise/product teams, including brand planning, strategy development, and insight generation across the product life cycle.
Act as the key relationship manager to priority therapeutic area advocacy partners, represent company interests, assess organizations’ priorities, and determine shared interests.
Conduct strategic advocacy dialogue with internal and external stakeholders to align priorities, ensure timely information exchange and issue responsiveness.
Under guidance of Director, TPA, create and execute collaborative initiatives with external stakeholders that improve patient outcomes.
Anticipate and address external environment trends and policies impacting Takeda.
Contribute to shaping the environment to support Takeda’s franchise- specific development and business objectives through strategic public affairs initiatives in collaboration with USBU and IBU public affairs and other functions.
Manage program budgets to support policy and advocacy objectives.
