Tallahassee State College (TSC), recently recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for 2025, is excited to announce part-time opportunities for the position of OPS Honors Program Staff with the STEM Center We are seeking a dedicated professional who shares our commitment to fostering a vibrant workplace community. 

 

What You’ll Do 
The OPS Honors Program Staff monitors the Honors Lounge, assists students, and provides front-line support by helping Honors students navigate academic planning and college success resources, including online support tools. 

Key responsibilities will include:  

 

  • Monitoring the Honors Lounge to ensure a welcoming, safe, and respectful environment.  

  • Assisting Honors students with general questions and directing them to appropriate resources 

  • Guiding students in using online academic tools including creating academic plans and tracking academic progress.  

  • Assisting students in locating information about transfer institutions and degree pathways.  

  • Providing basic troubleshooting assistance for online student systems.  

  • Referring complex academic or advising concerns to Honors Program Director.  

  • Maintaining confidentiality of student information.  

  • Performing other related duties as assigned. 

 

 

Work Schedule  

  • Monday through Friday- maximum of 25 hours per week.  

  • Positions will work one of the following shifts:   

  • 8:00 am – 12:30 pm  
  • 12:30 pm – 5:00 pm   

 

Who We’re Looking For 
We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. 

 

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent, and two (2) years of progressively responsible secretarial and/or clerical experience; or a combination of education and/or experience.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.  

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  

  • Comfortable using computer-based systems and online tools.  

  • Ability to work independently and provide excellent customer service.
