About the role
The Electrical Foreman is responsible for leading an electrical crew on commercial construction sites. Their primary role is to ensure planning, laying out, installing, and wiring electrical components are completed, as per project drawings, specifications and in accordance with applicable electrical codes.
What you'll do
- Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery and personnel
- Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors
- Training, managing and mentoring employees
- Providing adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices and safety needs
- Emphasizing safe use of tools, machinery and equipment while providing training on safety gear, hardhats and procedures
- Managing project budgets and quality standards for all sites
- Resolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably
- Ordering and managing day to day materials and managing quoting materials
- Regularly reporting project status to supervisors, site engineers and other officials
Qualifications
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license
- 10+ years of electrical experience, including 5+ years in field leadership
- Proven experience as a Foreman on large-scale electrical construction projects (up to $10M; crews of 10–30)
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills to manage teams, subcontractors, and project timelines
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to interpret complex construction documents, methods, and technologies
- Strong time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines across project phases
- Effective verbal and written communication for proposals, documentation, and technical discussions
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and safety compliance
- Proficient in estimating and project management software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick, Bluebeam, Procore, PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Requirements
- Maneuver on uneven ground and climb ladders
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs
- Must be able to work on feet for prolonged periods of time while using tools and perform repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping
