Turquoise Ridge - UG Geologist I

Position Description:

Nevada Gold Mines is looking for an entry level Mine Geologist at the Turquoise Ridge Underground mine.  This position collects quality geologic data for material management and modeling, while working closely with underground operations and engineering to guide the deposit.

Responsibilities:

• Provide a strong contribution to the site safety culture and programs, encouraging and ensuring others do the same.
• Map and sample headings in the underground mine to advance ore body knowledge.
• Ensure proper material routing and management.
• Provide grade forecasts for mine plans.
• Generate daily and weekly mine production and ore reconciliation reports.
• Perform geotechnical and geological logging of core and RC drillholes.
• Collaborate with geologic modelers by providing input to 3D geologic models through mapping and observations.
• Assist with geological studies as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors in Geology or related field required
• Strong safety principles required
• Ability to work within a team environment and possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required
• Ability to learn new software quickly required
• Previous underground mine operations experience (1 to 5 years) preferred
• Familiarity with Deswik, Leapfrog, and AcQuire software preferred
