POSITION OBJECTIVE: Coordinates all security department actions while keeping a detailed record of events. While acting as a Security Officer I, provide excellent service to casino guests while ensuring the safety of casino assets and Team Members.

JOB SUMMARY: Acts in the capacity as a dispatcher of Security Officers or telephone switchboard operator. Prioritizes all calls received and then dispatches Security Officers to provide assistance for all calls for service at the Nisqually Red Wind Casino. While acting as a Security Officer I, observe and report all activities, incidents or safety hazards to ensure protection of company assets and safety of guests and Team Members. Respond to emergency situations as they arise.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Required skills and knowledge:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • 1 year of guest or public service experience.
  • 1 year in first responder, law enforcement, or security roles. Examples may include casinos or gaming security, large entertainment venues, resort or hotel security, corporate security, transit or airport security, hospital or campus security, or similar work.
  • 6 months of dispatch experience in an alarm monitoring, high volume call center, security, law enforcement, corrections, or EMS/Fire environment; 1 year of experience as a Security Officer I at NRWC within the last five years waives the dispatch experience requirement.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and provide a driver’s abstract that must not contain any disqualifying events per the NRWC Safe Driver Policy.
  • Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • Ability to obtain conflict resolution certification.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic report writing skills using standard templates, clear sentence structure, and accurate documentation of security events/incidents.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including daily use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for communication, reports, and data entry.
  • Pass NRWC pre-employment testing, including a typing test at 30 WPM with minimal errors and a basic math assessment.
  • Ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain a Class III Gaming License.

Preferred skills and knowledge:

  • Certification in Red Wind’s “Service First” program.
  • Basic knowledge of Cisco phone systems.
  • Basic knowledge of computer aided dispatch systems.
  • Knowledge of the Tribal-State Gaming Compacts, Tribal Internal Control Standards, and National Indian Gaming Commission - Minimum Internal Control Standards for Class II gaming, and casino internal controls.
  • Bi-lingual.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, squat and lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, stand or move continually for assigned shift.
  • Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computer and routine paperwork.
  • Ability to frequently sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger; handle, feel, or grip objects; stretch and/or reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; crouch or work in cramped or awkward positions; repetitive motions. Must be able to continuously climb and descend stairs safely.
