The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.
Your Responsibilities
As a Part Time Student - Software Engineer for John Deere US/Mex Ag & Turf located in Waterloo, IA you will: be part of an Agile Development Team as a full-stack developer. You will help to perform backend and frontend development as well as support for the product's digital solutions. You may also support product teams to write and test code to delivery functionality to manufacturing applications. You may also support creating documentation for development processes and best practices. Through this position, you will: gain exposure to real-world projects, contribute to developing and deploying new solutions, and participate in architectural conversations. Additionally, you will gain experience in the following Tech Stack: Python, JavaScript/Typescript, React, SQL, Databricks, GitHub, Docker/Kubernetes, Redis.
This position is not available to students on immigration visas.
What Skills You Need
- Demonstrated aptitude for web-development
- Strong communication skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and adapt to changing environments
- Foundational coding knowledge and effective problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work 30-40 hours during the summer semester
- Ability to work 16-20 hours during the academic year
- Currently pursuing a 4-year degree in Computer Science/Engineering, IT, or a related field
