What you’ll do:

Position title: SAP iXp Industries Intern – Content Designer/Technical Writer 
Location: Newport Beach, CA – Pacific Time Zone
This internship is a hybrid role and will require office attendance 2 times a week.
Contract Hours: 20-40 hours/week
Expected start date to end date: June 2024 -December 2024

 

We are looking for an ambitious dual role Content Designer/Technical Writer Intern to join our team! As a Content Designer/Technical Writer, you will be fully embedded in a UX and Product team. Our ideal candidate is able to come into our Newport Beach, California office 2 days per week to collaborate with our team. 

You’ll be part of a team where you will help build next-level SAP products for the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry. You will get to see first-hand how UX writing impacts designs. Come join us to learn how we incorporate the best writing practices into UX and technical writing! 

 

Responsibilities:

• Assist the technical writers on the team to write documentation for SAP’s software products. Our documentation includes developer guides, installation guides, user guides, API  documentation, translation review, UX/UI copy, and online help.
• Work closely with UX writers, product managers, UX designers, and software developers to gain a real understanding of software documentation.
• Collaborate with UX designers to define, test, and iterate on UI copy across a variety of touchpoints and areas in the customer experience.
• Help teammates manage and prioritize consistency and ideation by maintaining content design related documentation.
• Assist and/or facilitate user research sessions to test and validate that our design and copy choices are working and resonating well with our users.
• Help senior team members with ad hoc UX-related side projects as needed.

Who you are:

 

• Enrolled in or a recent graduate (within the last 6 months) of a college degree or bootcamp program
• Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines – keen on consistency
• Reliability and open mindset with strong team working skills
• Must be comfortable with fast pace and ambiguity
• Passionate about understanding our customers and be able to speak to customers the way they would like to be spoken to
• Be able to take initiative and follow up with stakeholders regularly as needed – be able to take initiative in driving conversations with stakeholders
• Help maintain the consistent voice and tone
• Excited to collaborate across the organization to make customers have clear, accurate, accessible information on how to use our products and integrate it into their business practices
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Please include two writing samples with your application
 

Additional assets and nice to haves:

 

• Basic knowledge of technical writing principles and practices
• Experience with design tools such as Figma or Sketch
• Experience working with engineers, product managers, and/or UX designers
• Basic knowledge of DITA CCMS a plus
• Previous internship experience a plus
