University Student Engagement Intern

Argonne’s Institutional Partnership’s goal is to connect today’s world-class research to tomorrow’s STEM problem solvers. This internship position within the University Student Programs & Partnership team will focus on supporting internship student engagement, attending and preparing for fall student recruitment activities, and assisting with general administrative tasks as needed by the team.
Essential Job Duties:
- Assist the University Programs & Partnership staff with the following:
- orientation for new student interns
- student networking and social events
- weekly student seminar series
- supporting student safety at the lab
- weekly small group student meetings
- student intern office hours
- preparation of student recruitment materials
- creation and management of weekly student communications
- Attend student recruitment events
Internship Format and Hours
- Hybrid Appointment
- Must be available to work on-site at least three days per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) during the summer and at least one day per week (Tuesday or Wednesday) during the fall and spring.
- Summer: 40 hours/week (Monday-Friday)
- Fall/spring: 10 hours/week (Monday-Friday)
Students may be asked to be onsite additional days in the summer to attend programming and special events.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Must be a current undergraduate student, enrolled full-time at an accredited institution and have completed at least one semester of schooling by the start of the program
- Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins
- Must possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- If accepting an offer, must pass a screening drug test
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams)
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in program, activity development, and event planning
- Students seeking educational and/or higher education administration are preferred
- Strong desire to learn and seek out opportunities
- Willing to contribute ideas, participate in brainstorms, and take initiative

HourlyThe expected hiring range for this position is $18.08-$22.60.Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs. Additionally, comprehensive benefits are part of the total rewards package.
