We are looking for a Lead Mechanic to support the G400 Flight Test program onsite in Savannah, Georgia. The Flight Test Mechanic will primarily perform nacelle repairs / rework for hardware primarily installed on-engine at Gulfstream’s Savannah facilities. Occasional travel may also be needed to support both domestic and international flight testing.

What You Will Do

  • Perform repairs / rework on Collins Aerospace nacelle products (Inlet Cowls, Fan Cowls, Thrust Reversers, Aprons, and Engine Build Up).

  • Provide direction and guidance to a small team of contracting mechanics.

  • Safely perform other duties as assigned.

  • Able to mix, apply, and work around sealants, solvents, paints, and chemicals per specification requirements.

  • Able to work extended hours, including alternate shifts and weekends, to support the flight test schedule.

  • Able to wear PPE as provided and required for job tasks.

  • Travel up to 25%.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

  • Experience working in an aircraft manufacturing or operations environment.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Able to obtain and maintain certifications as required for sealant application, torques, electrical bonding, and respirator as needed.

  • Painting experience or willingness to be trained to apply paint to aircraft components.

  • Familiar with Nacelle components and their operation.

  • Composite repair experience.

  • Willingness to learn and develop skills and knowledge.

  • Ability to interact and verbally communicate with Collins technical support team and Customer on a day-to-day basis in a respectful and professional manner.

  • Willingness to work in a team environment.

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work alone without oversight (self-motivated)
