As a Lead Mechanical  Engineer, Tissue VS Mill Sustaining Capital - you'll provide mechanical engineering to the NA Tissue Value Stream Capital Engineering Organization. You'll also provide capital project leadership and support in the development, layout, design, installation, and start-up of equipment and ancillary systems to address capacity, capability, innovation, safety, and obsolescence needs for the NA Tissue Value Stream.

 

Additionally, you will be expected to collaborate across the Supply Chain, R&E, Procurement, tissue mill sites, key OEM equipment suppliers, technical service providers, and construction contractor networks.

While this role is posted for a specific location(s), this role is eligible for qualified applicants who are located in the US where Kimberly-Clark has tissue operations. (Neenah, WI; Roswell, GA; Mobile, AL; Loudon, TN; Jenks, OK; Beech Island, SC; Owensboro, KY; Chester, PA; Corinth, MS; Marinette, WS; or New Milford, CT.)

In this role you will:

• Lead single or multiple product or process improvement projects with a financial scope of up to $10 million from conception through commercialization.
• Provide technical and functional guidance in the design, development, and optimization of equipment.
• ·Conceive, develop, validate, and share ideas leading to new or improved products, processes, materials, systems or scientific knowledge aligned with business unit objectives.
• Drive the development and execution of FC capital projects using KCNA Project Management Practices (PMP) process as assigned.
• Effectively collaborate with a cross-functional team that includes R&E, Supply Chain, mill operations, procurement, equipment suppliers and external service providers.  Partner with mill asset teams keeping a customer focused mindset.
• Lead, coach, and mentor team members to increase technical understanding and ability to execute capital projects to improve the NA Tissue Value Stream business results.
• Drive a culture of protected and documented innovation to protect and defend K-C proprietary technology, products, and business processes through appropriate use of patents and trade secrets. This includes completing required project documentation through EFS, EDR, and Appropriation activities and following PMP documentation including Corporate Financial Instructions (CFIs).
• Consistent role modeling, growth and coaching within K-C Ways of Working
• Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner.  Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines.  Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel.

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you'll work with the Family Care Technology Development Team with focus on CTEC TM assets and work toward becoming a subject matter expert in this technology and mentor/coach other technical resources.  You'll initially support initiatives to optimize ICON operation as well as supporting an innovative solution to move beyond ICON, while also advancing knowledge on the Extended Nip Press for CTEC TMs.  You'll also collaborate broadly inside the corporation with R&E, Supply Chain, pilot plant, mill and multifunctional team members, and outside the corporation with vendors.
