The anticipated salary range for this role is between $113,000.00 and $164,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualification, experiences, and analysis of current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC MANUBANK offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled GCP Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in designing and implementing Google Cloud infrastructure. This role focuses on automation, security, and scalability. You will be responsible for building and deploying cloud infrastructure components using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), leading process-driven implementations, and maintaining existing systems through scheduled updates.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Design and implement cloud infrastructure with a focus on automation and security.
- Develop lifecycle automation for public cloud services using Terraform and other IaC tools such as Ansible.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure timely delivery of business-critical applications with the required infrastructure and architecture.
- Optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
- Embed security into every layer of infrastructure—from OS, VMs, containers, and Kubernetes to Big Data, APIs, and beyond.
- Partner with the InfoSec team to align on requirements, share knowledge, and drive secure implementations.
- Create clear and thorough documentation, including deployment diagrams and architectural overviews.
- Define and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for cloud infrastructure to leadership.
- Provide on-demand production support on a rotational basis.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of solid industry experience in IT/Software, with a focus on Infrastructure, Security, Cloud, and Software Development.
- Proven experience designing, building, and deploying distributed systems in cloud environments.
- Hands-on project experience with GCP Infrastructure and its security features.
- Proficiency with one or more of the following GCP services: GKE, Cloud Functions, Composer, BigQuery.
- Strong Terraform expertise, including building complex cloud infrastructure, writing reusable modules, managing state files, and following best practices.
- Solid understanding of Linux fundamentals.
- Demonstrated ability to build resilient, highly available, and reliable systems using public cloud infrastructure.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently when needed.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Passion for innovation and staying current with industry trends, cloud-native technologies, and emerging tools; actively contributes ideas for POCs and implementations.
- Experience with infrastructure security scanning tools such as Wiz, Google SCC, container scanning, API security, and perimeter scanning is a plus.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, API Gateway, BigQuery, Data Lake/Warehouse, and Cloud Networking Infrastructure is preferred.
- GCP certifications are a plus.
