Job Summary:This position is responsible for performing Preventative Maintenance (PM's) including lube/oil change, minor repairs, provides customer support, and service. Also responsible for the inspection, repair, and replacement of tires on all Light and Heavy Duty Equipment. Communicates vehicle concerns with customers and enters required data into PC based Fleet Management System.

Job Duties:Perform preventative maintenance on all types of light and heavy duty equipment, including lube/oil change, tire repair/mounting, and minor repairs or adjustments. Communicates with Lead Technician/CSR or Supervisor on additional repairs required that are discovered during PM's and assists in completing major overhaul/repair projects as directed.
Inspect, repair and/or replace all types of tires on light and heavy duty equipment.
Perform minor repairs on all types of equipment such as replacing batteries, light bulbs, belts and hoses. Assist skilled mechanics in completing major overhaul/repair projects.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):Knowledge of:
• Tire sizes, ratings and tread design.
• Preventative maintenance requirements and procedures including lube/oil change and tire mounting/repair.
• ADOT and Equipment Services policies and procedures.
• Vehicle/equipment safety check practices and procedures.
• Basic electric, and/or hydraulic systems checking.
• Basic record keeping procedures.
• Basic knowledge of minor automotive and equipment repairs.
Skill in/with:
• Safely repairing and replacing all tires of any size.
• Performing general preventative maintenance including lube/oil change, tire mounting/balancing/repair, and electric, electronic, and hydraulic systems checks, on a variety of vehicles/equipment.
• Making minor repairs/adjustments to a variety of vehicles/equipment.
• Basic record keeping.
• Data entry in a Fleet Management System.
Ability to:
• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Interpret repair manuals and service bulletins.
• Utilize a PC and PC programs Microsoft and Google Workspace.
• Manage time effectively.
• Work well with others.
• Ability to lift/carry 50 pounds, push/pull 90 pounds, and pass a physical exam.
Six months of job experience (i.e lube/oil change, tire mounting/repair and preventative maintenance checks on a variety of vehicles/equipment) in an automotive/heavy equipment truck shop.
Pre-Employment Requirements:EPA Section 609 Certification or the ability to obtain the certification within six months of employment.
