Job Summary: 


The Associate Director plays a key part in ensuring that UPHoldings’ supportive housing developments operate effectively and in alignment with the company’s mission to build, operate, and sustain a wide range of affordable housing solutions in a variety of communities across the country. The Associate Director assists the Director of Supportive Housing with the implementation, monitoring, and continuous quality improvement of service partnerships and onsite tenant support efforts across UPHoldings' Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) portfolio. This role supports UP’s onsite PSH teams to consistently and safely implement policies and practices. Currently, the PSH portfolio includes projects in California, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Support the Director in establishing and managing high-level partnerships with service providers, government agencies, and community organizations to ensure UP’s PSH properties provide access to high-quality supportive services through leveraged resources that align with both corporate commitments and PSH best practices.

· Assist in identifying and securing funding for tenant support services, such as government grants, philanthropic contributions, or private investments.

· Represent the company in coalitions, advocacy efforts, and stakeholder meetings to shape policies that impact supportive housing.

· Oversee the integration of partner supportive services into new and existing developments, ensuring that strategies align with project commitments and tenant needs. Collaborate with Community Partnerships and Tenant Support Managers to implement robust tenant support/residential services to maximize the project’s overall financial position, property stability, lease compliance, and capacity to meet tenant needs.

· Collaborate with real estate development teams to ensure new projects incorporate appropriate design elements for supportive housing (e.g., community spaces, on-site service offices).

· Oversee the collection and analysis of project/portfolio outcomes related to onsite service delivery, tenant engagement, partner and tenant feedback, and program outcomes. Track and analyze program data to identify trends and support leadership decision-making. Monitor service delivery outputs to ensure owner compliance with project funder commitments and related regulatory requirements.

· Assist in preparing documentation and reports for funding agencies, including compliance with HUD and other regulatory standards. Assist in creation of program forms, newsletters, toolkits, and other tenant support material that can be utilized across the portfolio.

· Stay updated on industry best practices in supportive housing and provide recommendations to enhance service delivery. Assist in developing and delivering training and technical assistance to providers and property management teams in best practices of quality supportive housing. Training areas may include trauma-informed care, Housing First, harm reduction, or policy implementation.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


· Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in working with diverse populations.

· Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed care principles and practices.

· Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners, including service providers and community organizations.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management tools.


Education & Experience: 


· Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, public administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.

· Minimum of five years of experience in supportive housing, affordable housing, or related human services.

· Experience with HUD-funded programs, including Continuum of Care or similar supportive housing initiatives, is a plus.

· Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to travel between work locations. Occasional air travel required.

  

Physical Demands:


· Sitting for extended periods of time reviewing files remotely or onsite.

· Walking and standing to inspect properties and attend meetings.

· Lifting and carrying files, documents, and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.

· Occasional travel to various locations, which may involve sitting for extended periods of time during travel.
