What Your Day-To-Day Will Involve:
- Lead and take ownership of the capacity planning strategy to meet commercial demand for an aggressive growth plan.
- Optimize facilities layout for cleanroom and non-cleanroom production, as well as warehousing areas, to accommodate volume increases and production ramp.
- Perform detailed material flow analysis and create models for new and existing products, including labor and space buffers.
- Generate and execute cost-effective solutions for cost reduction, labor savings, material flow, and safety.
- Champion continuous improvement projects to develop best-in-class lean manufacturing systems.
- Identify, justify, and implement data-driven projects to reduce manufacturing costs and improve processes.
- Conduct time studies to assist with labor standards and balance work content.
- Develop and manage project plans and milestones for various process improvement projects.
- Design and develop metrics and dashboards to visualize business status.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineering teams to drive the development of processes, tooling, and fixtures for production efficiency.
- Recommend manufacturing and material handling technologies to align with business objectives and identify potential opportunities.
- Plan and develop production and support space requirements, coordinating with external vendors for new manufacturing facilities.
- Travel: 20%, including domestic and international destinations, with potential trips lasting over a week.
The Qualifications We Need You to Possess
- BS or MS in Industrial Engineering (Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering acceptable with demonstrated Industrial Engineering experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing or mechanical engineering with a focus on capacity planning, production layout, material flow, and process and space optimization in medical device manufacturing or other complex electromechanical products in a regulated industry.
- Proven leadership ability to own and drive projects with diverse teams in a high-growth manufacturing environment, with the capability to summarize results for senior leadership.
- Experience in quantitatively solving ambiguous production problems at a systems level and making data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office applications, and AutoCAD for layout design.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
The Qualifications We Would Like You to Possess
- Experience with Lean and Six Sigma tools.
- Supervisory experience with project-based supervision of engineers, interns, and/or technicians.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Experience working in environments with moderate noise from machinery and potential exposure to hazards requiring protective equipment.
