Description

Skyworks Solutions is at the forefront of audio and voice technology innovation with our analog system on chips (ASoCs), for applications such as smart speakers/microphones, wired/wireless headsets, virtual assistants and intelligent gaming controllers. We are continuously growing our team to develop market specific ASoCs which combine breakthrough ultra-low power analog circuits, highly efficient power management and custom hardware accelerators for smart acoustic signal processing and AI features. Our proprietary technology achieves the highest level of integration in the industry and sets a new performance standard for low power consumption and minimal footprint.

We are a team of world-class analog, digital and firmware designers committed to building the next generation of ASoCs. This position is for an experienced digital designer interested in excellent personal and professional growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

You will architect, design and collaborate on radio subsystems in small geometry mixed-signal CMOS SOCs.  Your role will be a contributor and people manager of architecture and design in digital, including:

•    Full chip/block level architecture, RTL design and implementation
•    Design-for-Test implementation
•    Emulation, modelling, simulation, silicon testing and debugging of digital circuits and SOCs
•    Creating and managing team commitments, schedules, milestones, and deliverables. This includes setting and managing digital design and IP infrastructure, and flows across different tools 
•    Providing technical leadership and expertise in all aspects of digital design and implementation

You will lead a team to work closely with your counterparts in analog, RF and firmware design to ensure functional and performance requirements are met by the subsystem.  Your expertise in low power SOC design, signal processing, processor cores and ASIC implementation will make you a key member of the design group.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Proven track record of exceptional performance in firmware design
  • 15+ years (BSEE), 12+ years (MSEE) or 8+ years (PhD) of relevant industry experience
  • Experience in people management and development
  • Experience with radio design in ASICs
  • Experience in implementation with Verilog and System Verilog
  • Experience in architectural modeling in Matlab/Python
  • Experience in producing detailed technical reports and documentation
  • Experience in Real-time data processing systems and Audio signal processing
  • Experience in creating and managing team commitments, schedules, milestones, and deliverables
  • Familiarity with Audio performance concepts (SNR, THD, SINAD, DR, etc.)
  • Familiarity with standard interfaces (SPI, I2S, PDM, PWM, USB, etc.)
  • Familiarity with wireless protocols (Wi-Fi, BLE, BT, MAC/PHY)
  • Familiarity with wireless different processors (ARM, HiFi, RISC-V)
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements
  • Ability to be a technical anchor and mentor for team members
  • Professional, open, and highly self-motivated attitude

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $143,000 - $286,400 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
