Job Description

The purpose of the role is to execute the appropriate mine plans with the mining operations group at Haile ensuring compliance with the Company’s HSE Policies and Procedures. 

• Ensure HSE Policies & Procedures, Environmental standards, and Operating standards are maintained and kept current.
• Drive a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and high performance.
• Develop, train, and mentor front line supervisors.
• Monitor and control mining operations cost and report to the group monthly against cost.
• Participate in the annual budgeting process, providing productivities and feedback for LOM planning purposes.
• Assist in the development and execute approved mine plans to achieve targets.
• Responsible for the supervision and execution of Mining Operations including Drill & Blast, Water Management & Mining production.
• Develop and implement effective dewatering plans to ensure the mine digging plan can be executed effectively.
• All other duties as reasonable required.

Qualifications

• Ten (10) years mining experience with increased levels of responsibility
• Extensive knowledge of MSHA regulations
• Ability to successfully manage regulatory entities.
• Degree in Mining/Civil/Business related field preferred
• Must possess the ability to apply common sense logic to problem solving situations.

Additional Information

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, talk, hear, and see.
• Be able to walk over rugged terrain up to 6 miles per day in hot & humid and/or cold weather with occasional rain & snow.
• Must be able to work shift work with 12 hour shifts.
• Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
• Work is in a surface mine setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
• Safely operate 4WD light vehicles on highways, off-road, and on an active mine site.
• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
