JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of a physician or a Registered Nurse, renders care to infant, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients experiencing both acute and chronic changes in the normal health process.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduate of an accredited Paramedic program as evidenced by primary source of verification.

Licensure: Current Georgia Paramedic Certification

Experience: Two years experience as a Paramedic providing Advanced Life Support in the pre-hospital setting. ACLS Provider.

Active pursuit of licensure as a Registered Nurse preferred.

Skills: Skills as defined in the Law Governing the Practice of Paramedics in Georgia. Certification in Blood Glucose Monitoring.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Works in a typical acute health care setting with infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients experiencing a wide range of medical and/or surgical problems. Required to work a flexible schedule including weekends. Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions. Requires exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
