The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.

We’re looking for a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Birth Center of Denver team. In this role, you'll be providing exceptional care throughout the entire pregnancy and birth journey—offering prenatal care, teaching classes, supporting labor and delivery, as well as postpartum and newborn care. You’ll work closely with a supportive team to ensure every family receives the best possible experience. Using your nursing skills, you’ll collaborate with others to deliver personalized, high-quality care in a safe and welcoming environment.

Saint Joseph Hospital is proud to be the first hospital in Colorado to establish a freestanding birth center outside of the hospital setting. Our Birth Center is accredited by the Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers (CABC), ensuring the highest standards of maternity care.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Registered Nurse (RN) at Birth Center of Denver, you will:

  • Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans for patients, ensuring individualized care is provided.

  • Document patient care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.

  • Utilize available resources to provide high-quality patient care.

  • Support the Birth Center’s all-inclusive model of care, including prenatal care, teaching classes, labor, birth, postpartum, and newborn care.

  • Promote and uphold the hospital’s mission, vision, and values, while adhering to service behavior standards.

  • · Be available for on-call shifts during regularly scheduled hours.

  • · Take on other duties as assigned, contributing to a well-rounded team effort.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

  • One year of OB or Labor and Delivery experience

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Colorado.

  • If you have an AS DN degree, you must complete a BSN degree within four years from your hire date unless you have a minimum of 15 years of continuous acute care experience as a Registered Nurse.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).

  • Certification appropriate for the unit or service area (i.e., ACLS, NRP).

  • Previous Mom/Baby experience with transition experience

· Ability to see and read patient information, labels, and equipment

· Frequent verbal communication and quick response to emergency situations

· Manual dexterity for precise equipment manipulation, including computer use

· Capability to lift and transfer patients and equipment

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
