Job Summary:

The Boathouse Operations Specialist oversees the daily functionality of the 3 Commonwealth Collection properties, ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient environment for boating activities, customer rentals, and boating camp. This role involves direct interaction with guests, collaboration with site managers, and adherence to safety protocols. 

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities
  • Facility & Dock Operations: Inspect docks and facilities daily for safety, cleanliness, and maintenance needs.
  • Asset Management: Ensure boats, trailers, and equipment are in good working order; coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules.
  • Customer Service & Sales: Handle customer inquiries, bookings, rentals, and check-ins for boating activities.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce all boating safety regulations, including Coast Guard rules, and maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Staff Coordination: Supervise dockhands or junior staff, assisting with scheduling and daily operational tasks.
  • Administration: Maintain accurate records of inventory, participation counts, and rental agreements. 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous experience in marina operations, boat handling, or a similar hospitality/recreational facility.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with vessel types, basic boat maintenance, and marine equipment.
  • Certifications: CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred or able to obtain within the first week.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with customers, staff, and vendors.
  • Availability: Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. 
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Capable of lifting, carrying, and maneuvering heavy equipment, such as docks, kayak/canoe gear.
  • Physical presence at job site required
