Position Summary:

The Senior Platforms Engineer for Collaboration & AV is a subject matter expert who oversees the engineering, standardization, and lifecycle management of MPC’s enterprise collaboration and audiovisual (AV) platforms. This position focuses on delivering excellent user and meeting room experiences. Responsible for technical direction, reliability, and scalability, the role covers environments such as Microsoft Teams Rooms and enterprise AV systems. Operating independently within established governance, this role provides advanced expertise, leads complex projects, and helps shape and influence platform standards and best practices.

This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level. Actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Owns the end-to-end platform lifecycle for collaboration & AV systems including standards, architecture, configurations, integrations, lifecycle refresh, and decommissioning.

  • Identifies performance bottlenecks, conducts root cause analysis, and proposes and implements solutions to enhance platform & system performance and resource utilization. Establishes performance benchmarks, conducts capacity planning, and tracks service health to drive improvements that reduce risk, support burden, and technical debt. Collaborates with other teams, including junior engineers and cross functional teams to optimize infrastructure performance and activities.

  • Contributes to the development and improvement of troubleshooting procedures, measures to minimize platform & system downtime, and documentation. Partners with vendor and AV system integrator technical support to drive for resolution. Leads and manages platform & system technical support activities and troubleshooting efforts, including handling escalated and complex issues. Performs advanced system tuning and optimization to maximize performance using IT Service Management practices. Collaborates with internal teams to enhance support processes and methodologies.

  • Participates in future platform & system backup planning. Leads the design of disaster/system recovery and testing.

  • Analyzes performance and utilization data to identify trends and patterns; provides recommendations for optimization and improvement; prepares comprehensive reports on infrastructure performance; and implements corrective actions to drive continuous system improvements.

  • Leads the design and configuration of complex platforms & systems (including executive and specialized environments) that integrate with enterprise networking, identity, endpoint management, and security services, considering best practices and industry standards.

  • Leads ongoing compliance with original design and configuration and corrects for deviation from standards. Translate business and user requirements to build and deploy highly available and scalable infrastructure solutions, conduct design reviews, and produce user experience diagrams in partnership with IT and Facilities. Evaluate emerging capabilities including AI and automation.

  • Leads the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive knowledge base for platforms & systems, including troubleshooting guides, configuration documentation, and best practices. Promotes knowledge sharing culture by organizing training sessions, mentoring junior engineers, and encouraging cross-team collaboration.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience preferred 

  • Five (5) years of relevant experience required.

  • Strong knowledge of AV systems, collaboration endpoints, enterprise integration concepts (networking, identity, security) and working with system integrators and enterprise vendors required.

  • Experience with modern device management concepts and platforms (e.g., Microsoft Intune, Teams Admin Center, Pro Management Portal) required.

  • Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell) required.

  • AVIXA CTS or CTS-D certification preferred.

  • Familiarity with Crestron and production switching/streaming technologies (e.g., OBS Studio, Vizrt TriCaster) preferred.

  • Experience working within IT Service Management processes (incident, problem, change, asset) preferred.
