At Cleveland Clinic’s Kidney Medicine Unit, you’ll care for patients with renal failure using advanced dialysis technology and our patient-first approach. As a Medical Assistant, you’ll create a supportive environment for patients and families while assisting with medication management, patient monitoring, and clinical and administrative tasks.

The leadership style in this team is rooted in openness, support, and advocacy. Leadership is hands-on and responsive, offering daily assistance to help staff navigate challenges and meet goals.

 

A caregiver in this position works days, from 9:00am—5:30pm. 

 
A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Assist with performing screenings and treatments by gathering and updating information related to health maintenance, identifying medication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens, performing tests and documenting patient care.  

  • Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.  

  • Maintain equipment, medical supplies and examination areas.  

  • Perform administrative/clerical duties, such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration.  

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program (As designated by the Enterprise MA Steering Committee)  

  • OR Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered 

  • Completion of a clinical externship (Extensive clinical experience may be considered in lieu of formal clinical externship) 

  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (within new hire period) 

  • Current demonstrated clinical proficiency
