About the Team
The team supports product development teams with onboarding and deployment of applications to Workday's Kubernetes platforms. The team uses industry standard tools such as GitOps and Go to design and compose robust systems for interacting with the platforms we support.We are a group of innovative engineers that lean on agile and SRE principles to achieve productive and sustainable team values. We strive to improve the flow of products to customers by striking the right balance between continuous improvement and stability.

About the Role
- Code, deploy, and maintain large-scale, fault-tolerant systems using Workday’s private cloud technology and our internal Kubernetes platform
- Build platforms that empower application developers to interact with production environments in a self-service manner
- Participate in paid on-call rotation and respond to production incidents: triage, fix, and resolution. Retro and act on incidents to continually improve our systems and processes
- Improve operational efficiency to help scale the team by automating where possible - Work closely with engineering teams in the US, Canada, and Ireland to build next generation services and platforms for Workday

About You
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of devops or software development experience
- 3+ years of experience with building services and tooling in one or multiple languages (e.g., Go, Python, Ruby or Java)
- 3+ years of experience debugging and optimizing systems and code
Other Qualifications
- Automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications with Kubernetes
- Mentoring and coaching junior engineers to inspire professional growth
- Experience influencing and affecting technological change at the team level
- Knowledge of GitOps deployment orchestration systems
- Ability to architect, analyze, and support complex distributed systems
- A degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
