Job Description
Manages, coordinates, and completes assigned projects which build, reinforce, and advance nursing at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Fosters an environment that supports nursing practice and focuses on professional autonomy, decision making at the bedside, nursing involvement in determining the nursing work environment, professional education, career development, innovation, and excellence in clinical practice and nursing leadership.Experience
- 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in applicable clinical field
- 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting, including continuing education, staff development, and/or research
- Professional Nursing Certification preferred upon hire or within 1 year of hire
Education
- Bachelor of Science in nursing
Certification Summary
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated leadership skills in facilitating and leading cross-functional teams
- Proficient at a high level in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of employment
- Advanced oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with groups or teams and at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to confront and creatively manage conflict
Job Responsibilities
- Manages projects aligned with core American Nurses Association Scope and Standards of Practice for Nursing Administration and Nursing objectives in collaboration with staff, interprofessional teams, and leadership.
- Manages assigned nursing division projects.
- Develops, recommends/presents, implements/coordinates, monitors, and evaluates project plans to deliver results.
- Works with internal and external partners and stakeholders to achieve nursing and organizational goals.
- Collaborates with nursing staff, inter-professional teams, physicians, and leadership.
- Leads change, valuing the diversity of the team.
- Works closely with Human Resources involving plans regarding nurse recruitment, engagement, and retention.
- Fosters a professional, healthy work environment for nursing and inter-professional teams.
