The Accountant II, under direction of the respective Director, assists in compiling and reporting financial information to management and owner-investors. They are responsible for managing of cash levels and are challenged with the assignment of more complex accounting concepts, which may include accounting for commercial properties. In addition, the Accountant II serves as a resource for training and information to other Accountants, Site Staff and Site Management.

Starting salary $52,000 annually (or more based on experience)!
Job Duties Include:
• Serve as a support to the field positions as a resource for complex resident questions and concerns.
• Oversee and manage Deposit Accounting as directed.
• Bi-monthly review all general ledger activity to ensure transactions are appropriately coded and all activity has been recognized.
• Prepare monthly financial statements for each of the properties and company summaries for review and approval of manager.
• Review information for accuracy and completeness. Research and correct errors or discrepancies.
• Verify financial transactions are being recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Maintain mortgage and notes payable transactions.
• Assist in the preparation and input of annual operating budgets for the properties, journal entry review, and approval.
• Lead the monthly reconciliation of the balance sheets on a per property basis.
• Demonstrates knowledge and application of accounting principles, including Goldmark accounting practices, cash flow, and accrual accounting.
Experience and Education:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Four-year Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
• A strong leader with two or more years of leadership experience.
• Proficiency of the English language in reading, writing and verbal communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including SharePoint, Word, Outlook and Excel is preferred.
• Prior property management experience in multi-family environment preferred.
• Familiar with federal, state, and jurisdictional laws and regulations concerning multi-family housing, Fair Housing, and team member safety.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, manage time, as well as possess an orientation toward details.
