JOB DESCRIPTION
BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
The Sr. Product Manager is the industry expert for a defined product group responsible for the overall life cycle, promotion and support of all aspects of the assigned product line. Responsible for managing product offering, configuration and option, price list, and product communications to field team and internal stakeholders. Identify and recommend new product developments, improvements, and strategies to increase sales and profitability.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines:
• In charge of the implementation of the business plan for a defined group of products.
• Responsibilities include mentoring the Product Marketing Specialist, developing the marketing plan, determining the most effective programming and promotions that will deliver Corporate Plans/Budgets. Managing the promotion of the product both in terms of product positioning and demographic to align promotions and activities with the Marketing Department.
• Work with Kubota University to provide information and training to dealers and sales personnel, highlighting features and competitive advantages of new and existing products within assigned product line to increase product knowledge and sales.
• Lead the creation and maintenance of product information within product support materials, including website, price book, product guides and bid specifications, magazine ads, brochures, etc.
• Direct product positioning and demographic for advertising/website promotional with sales & marketing material and ensure product message is communicated properly.
• Lead trade show activities, sales meetings, and dealer meetings to promote assigned product lines.
• Lead the development and delivery of product presentations for their product range at Dealer Meeting and other similar venues.
• Lead the product development and existing product improvements within the assigned product line. Guide engineering and product development from a sales and marketing standpoint. Marketing driven development.
• Analyses industry and competitive sales information to make recommendations for strategies to increase Company sales.
• Responsible for New Product Introduction including configurations, product bulletins, price pages, website support, marketing campaigns, programming ready at time of launch as well as working with all other departments to ensure a successful launch.
• Review health of product through current product updates and thorough understanding of current issues and changes in the industry landscape.
• Ability to work with non-US based Engineering and Sales teams to develop future product roadmap and define product requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or another related field preferred
• 7+ years of related experience in branding, product launches, creating marketing literature, working with cross-functional teams, and conducting voice of the customer (VOC) studies.
• Thorough knowledge of assigned product line / market or ability to be trained rapidly.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Mechanical aptitude including the ability to operate equipment within assigned product line.
• Good interpersonal skills including the ability to be flexible and work as part of a team.
• Proficient using SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Sheets, and PowerPoint and the ability to quickly learn and use other software packages.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a driver’s license.
EQUIPMENT OPERATION:
• Excavators, wheel loaders, industrial and agricultural tractors, and other agricultural and construction equipment
• Also, office equipment including computer, copier, phone, printer
TECHNOLOGY:
• Ability to learn and use Microsoft & Google Suite.
TRAVEL: 30%
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Office and field environments: The position will require walking, standing, and sitting at a computer.
