Allied is currently looking for an individual to set-up the finish grinders and to teach the assistant's how to set them up. Shift premium is available for this position.

Requirements

  • Operate and Setup Walter Finish Grind 5-axis grinders on standard product and special items.
  • Perform complete inspections using an optical comparator, contracer, and camera.
  • Create part programs on PC stations utilizing blueprints and data files.
  • Perform wheel truing on all standard wheel sets, online and offline. Establish wheels on machine for truing, build new wheel stacks.
  • Troubleshoot quality-related issues on the grinders.
  • Run production.
  • The willingness to follow, and provide, instructions and procedures in a cooperative manner.
  • Must be able to access all on-line work instructions.
  • Observe and report all areas that need addressed.
  • Maintain a high quality level as well as a high rate of efficiency.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times.
  • Correct reporting of job transactions.
  • Fill out NCR for blades that do not meet our quality standards.
  • Follow inspection plan.
  • Proper use and care of micrometers and calipers.
  • Read and understand blueprints.


Qualifications:

Education

  • High School Graduate or GED equivalent
  • Completed or enrolled in Apprenticeship Program, preferred.

Experience

  • One year working knowledge of finish grinding operations, preferred.
  • Experience with micrometers, calipers, and dial indicator gauges
  • One year of CNC equipment set-up, preferred.

Skills

Detail oriented, good planning and organizational skills

  • Good at multitasking
  • Basic math skills, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division
